Crunch Stitch Pattern
Ideal for those cold winter days and nights, the Crunch Stitch pattern makes a very durable, warm and thick fabric. It gets its name from the way the half-double crochet (aka the half-treble crochet in UK terms) and the slip stitch combine. The slip stitch actually bends the half-double crochet over and crunches it up against the previous row!
Using just two stitches, this two row repeat pattern creates a beautiful surface texture. It’s simple to learn and you really only need to pay attention to how you begin and end the rows! Surely a great pattern to work during a favorite program!
Check out the companion video How to Crochet the Crunch Stitch! In the video you wil learn the basic crunch stitch pattern along with how to recognize the key stitches and how to make color changes in pattern. Afterall, it loves to be striped!
