Turban Knot Headband

The turban knot headband will keep you nice and warm on a brisk Autumn day. The secret lies in how to create the decorative folds that make the double thickness possible. While the headband appears seamless both inside and out, an easy machine knitting technique hides the joining seam.

The pattern includes two ways to make the twisted turban knot. The first is done right on the machine! The second method relies on hand-finishing. Choose your preference!

Yarn Bee’s Simply Flawless, a 100% acrylic yarn from Hobby Lobby makes this project swatch free! I’ve already done the math. All you need to do is knit!  Although a #3 yarn it yield a similar gauge to that of a worsted weight #4 yarn.   And, It runs so smoothly through the machine that occasionally a knot will go unnoticed. Make sure to wind the yarn into balls ahead of time and cut the yarn if you find a knot.  Also, take your time working the latchtool cast-on as the yarn may split because of its slipperyness!

Knit this easy turban knot headband on any flatbed bulky or mid-gauge machine. No electronics required!  Watch the tutorial  How to Machine Knit the Turban Headband for more detail.
