Shark Slipper Socks
Start your undersea adventure by making Shark Slipper Socks for the whole family! When the jaws open up the foot slips right in!
This humorous slipper is sized to fit from toddler to adult and are knit double-thick for warmth and comfort. All the sizes are included in the pattern from child small, medium, and large to adult small, medium, large and extra large! Every shark-lover will want a pair!
Start by shaping the lining and continue to the lower jaw, underbelly, back and upper jaw and mouth. Even the teeth are knit as you go! So it’s really a matter of changing color at strategic points and shaping! The entire slipper comes off the machine assembled and nearly finished. Just add the dorsal, tail and side fins to the outer layer. And don’t forget to embroider those tiny, black eyes!
Best of all, you can use any bulky or mid-gauge machine to knit them. No electronics or ribber are required!
I chose 4-ply worsted weight acrylic yarn (#4) for easy washing but an Aran weight yarn would also work as long as it will run through your machine. You will need white for the teeth, red or pink for the lining, dark gray or blue for the back and fins, a lighter gray or blue for the underbelly, and just inches of black for the eyes.
