Moss Stitch Washcloth
The Moss Stitch Washcloth is the companion pattern for the video How to Crochet the Moss Stitch – Back and Forth.
This versatile two-sided stitch pattern is easy-to-learn. The tricks are in beginning and ending the rows so that the side edges go way beyond straight. In addition, in this pattern there are instructions for changing colors to create a tweed effect and also a striped effect.
Additionally, directions are included to add a simple border for the moss stitch. The border reinforces all the various sides. All 4 sides are addressed to achieve professional results.
Our practice project is a washcloth that could also be used as a dishcloth. The ideal yarn is Sugar’n Cream, a 4-ply cotton yarn that is readily available. I used an H crochet hook but if you crochet tightly an I would be appropriate.
