Moss Stitch Points Table Topper

The Moss Stitch Points Table Topper takes the moss stitch to new levels. This is the practice project to learn yet another way to crochet the moss stitch. Since this technique is easy to adapt, it is perfect for a variety of projects.

Lengthened, it creates a great table runner. Shortened, it dresses up a nightstand or dresser. Made long and narrow, it’s a wild scarf.

The pattern not only contains easy-to-follow instructions for the table-topper but also includes pointers to crochet the variations.

Since the moss stitch begs to be striped, choose lots of colors for this project. It works up great in one solid or just a few colors too. I’m using 4 ply Sugar n Cream cotton yarn with an H hook. This yarn is ideal for home decor because the finished fabric will lay flat and its thickness will help protect an array of delicate surfaces.

Since the Points are crocheted on opposing corners of the moss stitch square, we start with the square. Then, we will move right into making the Points.

Using Sugar’n Cream 4-ply Cotton yarn and an H crochet hook makes our table topper nice and thick to help protect a variety of surfaces.  A thoughtful gift and a wonderful home accessory, the Moss Stitch Points Table Topper is a practical project.
