Faux Cable Cowl

The faux cable cowl pattern answers the question  “What to do with Bernat baby velvet?” In this pattern we provide three different sizes and introduce variations that keep each project unique and distinct!

First, we eliminated the need to drop stitches to create the columns.

Second, try we cover the fundamentals of the basic embossed stitch. When combined with the baby velvet yarn, it self-hems the selvedge edges of the cowl. This means no finishing!

Third, explore the variations created when you change the direction  and the size and depth of the faux cables.

Whether you choose to use a  the latch tool that came with your knitting machine or a crochet hook, you will have plenty of practice on this project creating raised textural detail!
