Embossed Cable Scarf
The embossed cable scarf pattern introduces three interesting latch tool techniques. Whether you choose to use a crochet hook or the latch tool that came with your knitting machine, you will have plenty of practice on this project creating raised textural detail!
First, start by learning the fundamentals as you work columns of the basic embossed stitch.
Second, when you’re done, you will have graduated to the embossed cable. Here, we cross adjacent columns of larger embossed stitches to acheive the cables.
Third, learn to trim columns of stockinette stitches with the basic embossed stitch and then combine with the latch tool joining method to achieve a lovely braid.
Lastly, learn to simplify the finishing by strategically adding fringe to the scarf.
Not only do you explore latch-tool techniques but you actually have a really warm, wonderful, winter scarf!
If you follow the instructions carfeully, you may even have enough yarn left over from the 2 skeins to make a hat! Pair it with the half-hour hat and you have a complete gift set for those on your holiday list!
The embossed cable scarf makes the perfect practice project for learning latch-tool techniques.
