Easy Picot Crocheted Edgings
Learn these four easy picot crocheted edgings!
All four edgings are a multiple of 3 plus 2 stitches. This means that these edgings repeat every three stitches. In turn, this means they can be used on just about any edge! We even include special hints on how to fudge a little to ease them in!
Dress up plain knitting or crochet clothing, blankets or accessories with ease!
Start by creating the foundation row! Each of these patterns uses the same foundation.
Then, have some fun! Learn to make picots! Picots, or little points, are featured in each of the edgings. Why? Because they add pizzazz! They make the edge so professional!
After the foundation row, two of the edgings have only one more row. Variation 1 produces a narrow edge with tiny points. Variation 4 fancies a wider border with more prominent points.
While Variation 2 hints of lace and offers a very slight ruffle, the 3rd variation definitely brags about its lacy overtones!
Experiment to see which one is your favorite!
All of the instructions explain how to work along the straight edge but also explain how to turn the corner! Turning the corners correctly makes all the difference between ok an wow! You will also find tips and tricks interspersed throughout the instructions to help you make your project a complete success.
Whatever edge you plan to embellish, each of these easy picot crocheted edgings are sure to please. The samples pictured are all made in worsted weight acrylic yarn. Each of these patterns however, are suitable for cotton thread too!
Experiment! Then check out some other edgings!
