Curvy Crunch Stitch
The Curvy Crunch Stitch takes the crunch stitch on a wavey adventure! Just like the crunch stitch, this variation combines the half-double crochet, (half treble crochets for those in the UK) and the slip stitch.
It may seem like a simplistic crochet stitch pattern but behind the curves, you will find some very interesting and complex processes. First you work with a very large multiple, then you deal with curves with straight edges and finally staggering increases and decreases! Then lions and tigers and bears! Oh, MY!
In the pattern, I break this complexity into easy-to-follow steps. It boils down to a shaping row and the rows in between. However, the pattern requires 4 rows only because the edge stitches are different! But it is these edge stitches that make the edges straight!
I must warn you, this pattern will keep you on your toes!
This is the companion pattern for the video How to Crochet the Curvy Crunch Stitch. There you will learn the secrets to creating the curves going both up and down, how to keep the edges neat and straight and how to change colors in pattern all while keeping the dense stucture of the basic crunch stitch.
