Star Coasters

The Five Point Star Coaster is as simple as 1 star, 2 colors, 3 surprizes and 4 rounds. One easy-to crochet star is the focus of each of the coasters. 2 contrasting colors help guest easily identify their beverages. Round 3 provides a lacey and a solid variation. Choose 100%cotton yarn (#4 ) for absorbancy and a G (4-4.25 mm hook) to keep the stitches firm and thick. It’s easy, fun and practical and uses up small amounts of cotton yarn!

The five-point star starts with Round 1. Then, the  points are added when Round 2 is crocheted. While these core rounds are the same for all coasters, they complete the star.  You may wish to  stop here if you just want to crochet this decorative shape. If you add the final border you even have more choices to make!

Round 3 can be worked with or without openings. And then with Round 4, you decide whether your coaster is in the shape of a circle or pentagon. Best of all, star coasters only take minutes to make!
