Magic Mushroom Shawl
The Magic Mushroom Shawl is the newest edition to my family of ‘shroomer projects. The stitch pattern combines rows of classic shells, single crochets, and clusters to create the illusion of mushrooms. However, the edges hold the secret to creating the angles necessary to achieve the perfect triangular shape.
Crocheted with the Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Bamboo-tiful yarn, the cotton and viscose fibers from bamboo, have a wonderful drape. The shawl simply embraces you with luxury.
Choose at least 3 colors to keep the mushrooms distinct but make sure that you choose and odd number of colors. This ensure that the mushrooms look slightly different even the color repeats itself.
Watch the How to Crochet the Magic Mushroom Shawl – Part 1 the Triangle for a detailed demonstration of how to crochet the main section. In Part 2 – the Border we professionally finish the shawl with a scalloped edging that mimics the mushroom cap!
You can also learn additioanl secrets by exploring two other variations of the Magic Mushroom. The technique to maintain straight edges is found in the Magic Mushroom Afghan. But if you have an inkling for working the Magic Mushroom stitch pattern in the round, you will definately want to explore the Magic Mushroom Water Bottle Cover.
You may just find this stitch pattern is simply addictive!
