I-Cord Flower Embellishment
The I-cord Flower Embellishment makes a fantastic alternative to pompoms. Dress up a hat, scarf, sweater or even home decor! Easy to knit! Add a little cheer with flowers!
And, machine knit I-cord flowers are so easy to make! Designed for the flatbed knitting machine these little blossoms will surely please. While I used my Brothers 270, this pattern is ideal for the bulky or midgauge machine such as the LK150, Brothers KX-350 or 230 to name a few.
The pattern is designed to use #4 worsted weight yarn. However, if you adjust the tension, you can even create mini flowers on the standard gauge machines too! Have fun experimenting.
And, don’t forget to watch my companion video How to Machine Knit the I-Cord Flower for more insights!
This pattern includes 3 Basic Flowers that can be worked on any bulky or mid-gauge machine. Plus I added a variation for a true i-cord petal which requires a more sophisticated machine! If your machine does partial knitting without a lot of fuss, it’s worth a go!
Perfect for children’s clothing and accessories, the knit flower is also kid-safe. Kids can’t take them apart and choke on little strands of yarn!
Plus these flowers are absolutely NO-FUSS! When you’re done, you’re done. How easy is that? With no trimming involved, you don’t waste an inch of precious yarn!
Stimulate your imagination and add pizzazz to plain old ready-mades with the I-Cord Flower Embellishment!
