Woven Pocket Purse
A throw-back to the 70’s, the woven pocket purse makes its debut as the perfect warp knitting first project! Warp knitting is an advanced garter bar weaving technique for the flatbed knitting machine.
Not only do you learn this fascinating technique, but you have something to show for it! This partner pattern goes hand-in-hand with the newly released video Warp Knitting Basics. Watch and knit-along!!!
First projects should not be expensive. And, this one uses readily available materials of worsted and sport weight yarn. You might even raid your smidgeon yarn bag for stray lengths!
While originally designed to be made on a bulky or mid-gauge flatbed knitting machine, you can easily adapt the pattern to the standard-gauge machine. All you need is the machine, matching garter bar and some some common yarn! Technique is king/queen for this woven pocket purse.
So set up your knitting machine and find your garter bar! You’ll be ready to explore Warp Knitting! You’ll be hooked! And then, you might just try your hand at the Warp Knitting – Straight Line Designs! or download the complimentary stitch patterns!
