Super easy Crocheted pompoms

The Crocheted Pompom

Why crochet a pompom?

Good question!

First, I am pompom challenged. I can never get the knot quite tight enough.

Second, I hate trimming and trimming and trimming and trimming in search of the perfect shape.

Third, I don’t want to spend my hard-earned money on an expensive pompom maker only to use it on occasion and only if  I can find it!

Real Reasons

Aside from those factoids, here are some really good reasons to crochet a pompom!

1.) Crocheted pompoms are great for children’s clothing and accessories. A child cannot pull it apart and eat the little pieces of yarn! No choking hazard here!

2.) You can crochet a pompom from loosely spun yarn or from yarn like chenille that will simply come undone if cut.

3.) You can crochet a floppy pompom. You can’t do it with a tied pompom!

4.) You can use up every inch of an expensive “leftover” specialty yarn.

5.) Accent pompoms can even dress up plain old ready-mades!

And, you can make specialty pompoms by combining more than one basic pompom together!
