Granny Teardrop Motif

Granny Isn’t Square Anymore!

If you’re a fan of scrap happy, granny square afghans, the granny teardrop motif adds a totally new dimension to your crochet adventures!

In this video, learn the basic secrets of the granny teardrop motif! So easy to crochet, it’s just three basic rows and the border!

The teardrop is designed to be combined with the traditional granny square.  Just turn the squares on their sides and they become diamonds at the center of the afghan!

Then, along the edges insert the teardrop motifs in between the squares. Since the half of the teardrop motif is squared, you can easily either sew or crochet the afghan together!

Once you’ve explored this new shape, you’ll certainly agree that Granny isn’t square anymore!
