Warm Winter Headband

Ward off those wicked winter winds with this wonderfully warm winter headband. By combining the insulating qualities of the classic fisherman rib, the luxury of mohair and the convenience of acrylic, we have created the perfect cold weather accessory for the active person.

The headband can be worn two ways. Fold the headband in half to created a double thickness for a warm yet fashionable look. Wear it open to get maximum head coverage for very frigid weather conditions. Either way, the narrower plain ribbing fits comfortably under the hair at the back of the head.

For the technically inclined, this variation of the fisherman rib blends 1:1 ribbing and tucked stitches to achieve the lofty ridges and deep valleys so characteristic of this style. It is as simple as 1-2-3: knit the knit stitches together with the carried yarn, slip the purls stitches, and yarn over the needle. The tuck occurs when the knit stitch and carried yarn are knit together.
